The Women's Golf Coaches Association has announced the first 2020-21 student-athlete and coaches awards for Division III Women's Collegiate Golf, naming Southwestern's Madison Goldberg to the West All-Region Team.
Goldberg, a junior from Austin, Texas, earns her second All-Region honors in two years at Southwestern. She finished in the top five in each of the four competitions Southwestern participated in this spring.
"Madison had a solid spring season and is one of the best players to come through Southwestern," head coach Greg Sigler said. "I look forward to seeing what she can accomplish during her senior year."
She was the SCAC Individual Champion, winning the event by one stroke with a 154 at Vaaler Creek Golf Club, besting Trinity's Raquel Hill. She placed second in the West Region Invitational and SCAC Preview and fifth in the Schreiner Spring Shootout.
Southwestern placed second as a team in the SCAC Championships and finished its season ranked No. 23 in the WGCA Division III Coaches Poll.
