LINSEY GARZA OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Palmhurst, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, March 17 through Tuesday, March 23.
Garza parred the first playoff hole to take medalist honors after tying atop the leaderboard with her teammate at the SCAC Conference Preview at Vaaler Creek Golf Club. Garza and Madison Goldberg shot identical rounds of 79 and 78 to finish at 157 (+13). Garza led the field with six birdies and her even-par score on par 5s tied with four others for tops among the field. The Pirates finished second as a team at the event.

Freshman Kiona Hsia of Trinity finished third among individuals and led her Tigers to the team title at the SCAC Conference Preview. Hsiu shot two rounds of 80 to finish at 160 (+16) - three shots off the lead. Junior Courtney Krause of St. Thomas had rounds of 82 and 83 and finished at 165 (+21) - tied for eighth in the 24 player field. Junior Abigail Hayes of Centenary fired rounds of 86 and 85 to finish at 171 (+27) and tied for 11th at the Hal Sutton Invitational. Freshman Audre Garza of Texas Lutheran posted the top score among Bulldog golfers, shooting rounds of 93 and 95 to finish at 188 (+44) - good for 18th among individuals. Freshman Claire Kirby of Dallas had the best scores for UD with a 91 in the first round and 94 in the second round at the Texas Cup, finishing in 20th place.
