Sarah Lucido Named SCAC Women's Golfer of the Week

Southwestern University Pirates women's golfer Sarah Lucido was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Golfer of the Week for competitions played from Wednesday, Feb. 19 through Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Lucido participated in the Linda Lowery Invitational as an individual and finished third on the leaderboard after scoring rounds of 80 and 85 for a two-day total of 165 at the Yaupon Golf Club. The first year from Austin, Texas was just one stroke off second place and three shots behind the individual medalist.

Southwestern finished second as a team in the event, bringing its season total to three first-place finishes and two second-place finishes. The Pirates will compete in the SCAC Preview next week, traveling to Blanco, Texas to play on the Vaaler Creek Golf Club on Monday, Mar. 2 and Tuesday, Mar. 3.
