Women's golf leads field after day one at Schreiner Shootout

KERRVILLE, Texas - Valentina Olivieri and Leilani McDaniel went one, two in the first round of the Schreiner Shootout, leading the Pirates into first place. 

Olivieri shot a three-over-par 75 to lead all individuals while McDaniel shot six over par for second place. Mikayla Miller shot an 81 to finish tied for seventh while Katherine Dyo finished the day tied for 16th and Paige Greenan came in 31st. 

Southwestern's team score of 318 is eight strokes ahead of their nearest competitor, Mary Hardin-Baylor. 

SU closes the tournament on Tuesday.
