THREE PIRATES EARN ALL-SCAC MEN'S TENNIS HONORS

SUWANEE, Ga. - In exclusive voting by the head coaches in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, three Southwestern University men's tennis players have earned all-conference honors. First-year Alex Lam, senior Nick Parker and junior Charles Prince were all named as All-SCAC Honorable Mention selections.

Lam (Sugarland, TX/Clements HS) competed in the second spot most of the season in singles action and partnered with Prince for the first flight in doubles in his first year at Southwestern. He compiled a 8-6 record individually and 8-5 record in doubles.

Parker (Wharton, TX/Wharton HS) played in the first spot for most of the year in singles and second flight in doubles and compiled a 5-7* individual record and 6-5* doubles record for the 2009 season.

Prince (Port Arthur, TX/Memorial HS) ended the year with a 4-8* record in the fourth flight for Southwestern and  8-5* record in doubles action with Lam.

The three men's all-conference selections and two women's selections matches the post season honors for last year's squad for the most All-SCAC honors since 2003. The Pirates ended the season in eighth place at the conference championships.

Coaches voted for 10 players in rank order, with a first-place vote worth 10 points, a second-place vote worth nine points, on down to a 10th-place vote being worth one point. The top 10 players were named all-SCAC and any player beyond the top 10 that received votes were named honorable mention.
