GEORGETOWN, Texas - Two student-athletes, A.C. Cox (pictured) from men's basketball and Connor Hanrahan from men's lacrosse, grace the pages of the Fall edition of the Southwestern Magazine recalling their years at SU and how it has transformed their lives.
Cox was a constant leader on the court in his four seasons with the Pirates, running the show from the point guard position. He was great at involving his teammates but was also a consistent offensive threat. Cox made a name for himself on campus first in a dance contest at Pirate Training in the Robertson Center gym his first-year and continued that reputation with his unmatched work ethic on that same court.
Connor Hanrahan was the lone senior on the squad for the lacrosse team in its inaugural season. His ability to lead and show others how to be successful both on the field and in the classroom simultaneously has been a great learning tool for a team in its infancy. Hanrahan served as the glue holding the team together in a time when they were still searching for their identity. His uncanny ability to help others see what they could not and accomplish tasks that seemed out of reach was hugely important and ultimately resulted in the Pirates' first NCAA victory as they defeated Hendrix in overtime in their final home match.
