SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll on Thursday for the 2011 spring term and 98 Southwestern student-athletes were recognized.
The Pirate baseball team led the way with 16 student-athletes named in the report while the women's tennis team had 90.9 percent of their athletes honored (10 of 11).
The SCAC set a record this spring with 1108 student-athletes
total named in the report. Since its inception in the fall of 1997,
just over 18.500 male and female student-athletes have been
recognized for their contributions in the classroom.
To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point
average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity
athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference. To read the
