GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Southwestern Athletics fall annual fundraising campaign, the Pirates for Pirates Challenge, which ran twenty-four hours from noon on September 13th to noon on September 14th, has been considered a massive success for the Pirate Athletic department and its student-athletes.

The athletic department campaign, in conjunction with the Southwestern University Department of Annual Giving, set a goal to reach 600 donors for the challenge with no monetary dollar goal. The Pirate Nation far exceeded expectations, smashing the goal of 600 donors, and rallying a total of 958 people who gave to the fundraiser. In response to the massive support the Pirates received, Southwestern Athletics raised a total of $233,090 across all of its varsity sports and its general Pirate Fund. The Pirates for Pirates Challenge was supported by generous Matching Gifts of all shapes and sizes, one-time donations, and advocates for the Pirates all across the country.
