Southwestern Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - This past February, the Southwestern University Athletic Department invited four former Pirate athletes to attend the Class of 2022 Hall of Fame Luncheon Ceremony in the McCombs Ballroom inside of the Red and Charline McCombs Center on the campus of Southwestern University. 

The purpose of the Southwestern University Athletic Hall of Fame is to honor the people who have made significant contributions in the field of athletics at Southwestern University. 

As athletes, associates, students, coaches and administrators, these persons will have had outstanding careers and have served as ambassadors for the ideals of intercollegiate athletics and the high standards of Southwestern University. Inductees will have attained success of a stature worthy of being recognized as some of the finest contributors to the Southwestern athletic tradition and as persons whose athletic careers extended to the highest levels that were appropriate for the sport and the time period.

Southwestern University Athletics is proud to induct the Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

  • Aaron Bowser '06
  • Audra Gentry '10
  • James Mills '89
  • Wayne Weigelt '99

Hall of Fame Induction Criteria

 

Aaron Bowser '06 arrived at Southwestern in the fall of 2002 and became the
men's basketball program's all-time leading scorer in the NCAA Division III era,
finishing his career with 1,367 points.

Audra Gentry '10 arrived at Southwestern in the fall of 2006. In her second season as a Pirate,
she made her mark on the Southwestern Division III era amassing a school record 471 kills in a
single season.

James Mills '89 came to Southwestern in the fall of 1985. In his second year, he was named to
the NAIA All-American Academic team for his efforts in the classroom. In his third year, Mills
emerged as a power hitter for the baseball program.

Wayne Weigelt '99 came to Southwestern in the fall of 1995. Weigelt was a four-year starter for
the Southwestern baseball team and became a renowned leader for the Pirates during his time.
