Matt Bersano is the Pirate's Goalkeeper coach and is also currently playing for Austin FC. 

Bersano graduated from Oregon State University, where he played soccer for four years, with a B.A. in Speech Communication. He then went on to get his MBA in Sports Management at Southern New Hampshire University. Coach Bersano has been coaching camps and individual clinics since 2013. After OSU, he went on to play one season at Penn State University before starting his professional career with the Seattle Sounders in 2016. Between 2016 and 2022 he played for Reno 1868 and the San Jose Earthquakes, where he was a part of three Open Cup appearances.
