Women's Tennis Rolls Past Hardin-Simmons

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Women's tennis hosted the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls to kick off a busy weekend of tennis on Henderson Courts. The Pirates took control of the match during doubles and carried the moment into singles to walk away with the 8-1 victory. 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Pirates started by controlling doubles on all three lines, with Erika Synoski and Daryl Locke winning 8-4 at No. 1, followed quickly by an 8-3 win by Mary Young and Kimberly Duncan at No. 2.
    Sydney Wahl and Valeria Gracia then finished the sweep with an 8-4 win at No. 3.
  • Synoski gave the Pirates their fourth point with a quick 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles
  • Locke provided the clinch, winning 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1.
  • Wahl gave a strong effort at No. 3, winning the last nine games in a row for a 7-5, 6-0 victory.
  • Duncan took a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5 for the Pirates and Gracia added a 6-1, 7-6 win to make the final 8-1.

NEXT UP

Both the Men's and Women's tennis teams host a doubleheader on Saturday, starting with a match versus Schreiner at 11:30 AM and ending the day with a match against East Texas Baptist University at 4:00 PM on Henderson Courts.
