Women's Tennis Wraps Up Trip To Virginia With A Win

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - No. 27 Women's Tennis (3-4) traveled to Fredericksburg, Va for three matches over the weekend. Saturday featured a doubleheader with No. 26 ranked, Mary Washington and No. 18 Case Western Reserve. The Pirates would drop both matches on Saturday, losing 3-6, and 0-9. Southwestern bounced back on Sunday, even after trailing from doubles 2-1, to take down Gustavus Adolphus, winning, 7-2.

    • Erika Synoski and Daryl Locke won at No. 1 doubles 8-3, and both took their singles matches on the top two lines, with Synoski winning 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 and Locke playing her first match at No. 1 and coming from behind to win a dramatic tiebreaker 4-6, 7-5, 12-10.
    • Lydia Lee (6-2, 6-1 at No. 3), Sydney Wahl (6-0, 6-3 at No. 4), Kimberly Duncan (6-1, 6-2 at No. 5) and Valeria Gracia (6-1, 6-1 at No. 6) all had dominant wins as well.
