Swarthmore College Hands Men's Tennis Their First Loss

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Men's Tennis (5-0) hosted Swarthmore College (6-0) to kick off their Spring Break with a match on Monday at Southwestern University. With both teams being ranked in the Top20 and a perfect season thus far, this proved to be top-tier competition on Henderson Courts. Swarthmore earned a lead after doubles and maintained it through singles, earning the 6-3 victory over the Pirates. 

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Oscar Roy and Ashton Ellis earned the Pirates' only doubles victory, beating last year's NCAA Finalist duo 8-7. 
  • It took Roy three more sets to win his singles match at the No. 1 line. 
  • Ryan Flanagan won his singles match in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 10-3.
