Women’s Tennis Claim Victory over Colorado College

Southwestern Women's Tennis got a wonderful win against Colorado College, 9-0, on April 13, 2023. The Colorado College Tigers battled hard but fell to the Pirates.

The Pirates found success in two of the first three doubles matches. At line three doubles, Sophomore Captain Erika Synoski and Senior Emma Kesterson breezed through an 8-1 win. The natural chemistry of Synoski and Kesterson on court is unmatched! The two play flawlessly together. At line one, Senior Nina Mitrofanova and Sophomore Lydia Lee battled to win. Facing a tough tumble taken by Lee, the two were able to find a way to win. Followed by an impressive and well earned win by Alli Ziehm and Taylor Despriet.

Doubles put the Pirates up 3-0, turning everyone's attention to the importance of the singles matches.

The Pirates entered singles with a determination to win which was evident by every player on court. This focus and drive enabled the Pirates to sweep all singles courts, making the final score, 9-0. Nina Mitrofanova and Emma Kesterson, line one and two, both played with high energy and lots of positive energy! Taylor Despriet and Lauren Chisholm, line three and four, were focussed and energetic on court. The two cheered on their teammates loudly and confidently! Line five and six, Alli Ziehm and Erika Synoski both played outstanding matches, finding a way to win and facing adversity. The atmosphere was overall very positive and encouraging, leading the Pirates to victory. 

The Conference Tournament will be held here at Southwestern University on April 28-30, at the Pirates' home courts! See y'all in two weeks!
