Women's Tennis Defeats Millsaps

Women's Tennis Defeats Millsaps

Southwestern Women's Tennis defeated Millsaps, 8-1, on March 13, 2023 and began their match against Wesleyan. The day in Florida held some unfavorable conditions and delays contributing to the unfinished match with Wesleyan that will be continued on March 14, 2023, at 2:00pm EST. Although this match was not completed, the Pirates had a stellar performance defeating Millsaps.

In an effort to get enough matches in between the weather delays, the match started with singles first. Lydia Lee and Lauren Chisholm played side by side cheering each other on throughout the matches. Both Lee and Chisholm won their singles matches comfortably. Being the fifth singles match done, Lee clinched at line four. Team Captain Alli Ziehm was radiating positive energy from her court as she got the sixth point for the Pirates.

Being up 6-0, the Pirates could enter doubles relaxed but ready to work on executing some things from practice. Valeria Gracia and Kimberly Duncan had an outstanding win at line three doubles and communicated extremely well. Their determination was clear and they went out and got the job done. Erika Synoski and Daryl Locke also performed incredibly well in doubles, and the energy from their court really pumped up all of their teammates.

Once again, the Southwestern Women's Tennis team had an outstanding performance and was able to get the victory, 8-1.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the Conference Tournament which will be held here at Southwestern University on April 28-30, at the Pirates' home courts!
