Trinity University is the top seed for this year's event, and the Tigers will attempt to earn their 24th SCAC title in program history. Last season, Southwestern University won its first-ever SCAC women's tennis championship, snapping Trinity's eight consecutive conference tournament wins.

Both Trinity and Southwestern are regionally ranked headed into the SCAC Tournament, although the first-week Region VIII rankings were done alphabetically. As the top seed for this weekend's championship, Trinity earned a first-round bye and begins play on Saturday, April 30.

The other six participants, including second-seeded and defending champion Southwestern, open play on Friday at 9 a.m. Action will take place at both the Schreiner University campus courts and the H.E.B. Municipal Tennis Center in Kerrville. The complete schedule is listed below:
