Women's tennis claims third straight nationally-ranked recruiting class

GEORGETOWN, Texas – For the third straight year, the Southwestern University women's tennis program has a nationally-recognized recruiting class, as head coach Billy Porter's incoming student-athletes combined to earn a No. 13 rating, according to TennisRecruiting.net.

The Pirates were one of only two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) programs to be listed in the top-25 rankings.

Under the direction of Porter, Southwestern completed the 2016-17 campaign with a 20-3 record and a trip to its second consecutive SCAC championship match. Porter also led the Pirates to the program's first-ever national ranking, as the team finished 24th overall.
