LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southwestern University first-year Mary Cardone was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Cardone, who also earned the honor on March 14, logged a 5-1 record overall last week. She was 3-0 at the second singles spot, while she and sophomore Anna Schneemann netted a 2-1 record at No. 1 doubles.

The San Antonio native has registered a perfect 12-0 mark in singles contests.

The Pirates hit the road on Saturday, April 1, to play East Texas Baptist and LeTourneau.
