GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern University women's tennis team collected 17 victories on the opening day of the ITA Southwest Regional at the Marvin D. Henderson Sr. Tennis Courts.
Freshman Taite Drews-Jones led the Pirates with two wins in singles play and another in doubles action, as she remains alive in both A Draws.
In the B Draw, Marieke Visser and Kali Rose both remain unbeaten in singles competition, while Callie Mantooth will play again tomorrow in the consolation bracket.
Action continues Saturday morning, while the tournament is slated to wrap up on Sunday.
