Hunt Captures All-SCAC Selection

In exclusive voting by the head coaches in the league, first-year Gabby Hunt was selected to the 2013 Women's All-SCAC Tennis Team. Marieke Visser and Kristina Krampitz were Honorable Mention picks.

Coaches voted for 10 players in rank order, with a first-place vote worth 10 points, a second-place vote worth nine points, on down to a 10th-place vote being worth one point. The top 10 players were named all-SCAC and any player beyond the top 10 that received votes were named honorable mention.

Hunt had an impressive 12-2 overall record in her first season as a Pirate. She competed mainly in #2 singles, going 11-2, and went 1-0 in one match in the #1 singles slot. Hunt teamed up with Virginia Stofer in #2 doubles and finished the season with a 6-4 overall record.

Visser was strong as well in her first year, going 10-5 in singles play, dividing her time between the #3, #4 and #5 slots. She and teammate Sarah Johnson went 6-8 in doubles action. Krampitz went 7-7 this year, playing in #3-#6 singles. She teamed up with Hunt in four doubles outings, going 2-2.

Southwestern captured a second place finish at the SCAC Championships after falling to Trinity 8-1 in the SCAC Conference Finals.
