Women's Golf Finishes Third at Alamo City Classic

SAN ANTONIO — Southwestern women's golf placed four in the top 20, scoring a 644 to finish third in the Alamo City Classic at The Quarry Golf Course. 

Madison Miller improved from her first-day total by one stroke, scoring a 78 to finish at 157 to pace the Pirates with a tie for ninth place. Linsey Garza and Isabel Montelongo tied at 162 to finish in 13th place. Katherine Montgomery scored a 163 to finish in 17th place, and Kaylee Cheek scored a 179 to tie for 27th. 

Trinity's Alejandra Sanchez De La Fuente Molino won the event with a 146, finishing four over par. The Tigers placed first with a score of 616, ending two strokes ahead of UT-Dallas's 618. Trinity's second team followed Southwestern with a 646, followed by Concordia at 658, Dallas at 647, and Schreiner at 788. 

Next weekend, Southwestern will travel to Destin, Florida, to compete in the Golfweek Invitational, which runs from Saturday, Oct. 16 to Tuesday, Oct. 19.
