Women's Golf In 16th Place After First Round at DIII Preview

HOUSTON — Southwestern women's golf ended the first day of the NCAA Division III Preview in 16th place after scoring a 333 in the first round and sit 33 strokes off the lead. 

Madison Goldberg and Linsey Garza led the Pirates with a score of 80 and are currently in a tie for 40th place. Katherine Montgomery shot an 84 to tie for 65th. Mikayla Childers and Kaylee Cheek each shot an 89, tied for 83rd. 

Carnegie Mellon is in the lead with a first-round score of 300, led by fourth-place Sriya Mupparaju. George Fox University's Alison Takamiya is in first place with a score of 70.
