Olivieri Earns SCAC Women's Golfer of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia - Valentina Olivieri-Puentes a senior from Asuncion, Paraguay has been selected the SCAC Women's Golfer-of-the-Week for competition played from Wednesday, March 27 through Tuesday, April 2.

Olivieri won individual medalist honors at the West Region Invitational with a two-day score of 156, posting consecutive rounds of 78 to finish at +12. She led the Pirates to a third-place finish at the event which was played at the 5,805-yard, Par 72 Berry Creek Country Club in Georgetown, Texas. Her 20 pars tied with teammate Leilani McDaniel for tops in the field. She also had three birdies.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC: First-year golfer Raquel Hill of Trinity paced the Tigers at the West Region Invitational with a final-round 83 for a total score of 167. She finished the tournament tied for 10th place and rose eight slots from the first day of competition. Junior Summer Swift of Texas Lutheran ended the UC-Santa Cruz Invite tied for 10th after an 81 on Sunday. She shot a 13-over-par 157 with rounds of 76 and 81 to lead the Bulldogs to a fifth-place finish. Senior Piper Gleadhill of Schreiner fired rounds of 82 and 86 to finish with a 168 and 12th place among all individuals at the West Region Invitational. First-year golfer Tiffany Han of Dallas posted a two-day score of 222 (111-111) at the West Region Invitational. Junior Shundiin Kauff man of Johnson & Wales posted the team's best round of the day with a 126 at the Eagle Invitational. Kauff man improved nine shots to lead JWU with a two-day total of 261.
