The Pirate tennis teams faced off with McMurry University on Tuesday in Georgetown, Texas. The women were just one set shy of making a sweep of the Indians and won 8-1 while the men fell 2-7.
The women swept doubles, dominating in two of the three match-ups, while Alex Lam and Charles Prince defeated Will Davis and Bryan Rainwater for the lone Pirates win in doubles action.
In the singles match-ups, the Pirate women breezed through the afternoon, not allowing the Indians a single set until the sixth flight where Allison Noblitt fell to Janet Hernandez 3-6, 6-1, 8-10 (third set tie breaker).
On the men's side, Lam was the lone Pirate to get a victory over McMurry. He defeated Rainwater in two sets 7-6 (7-1), 6-2.
