GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - The Men's and Women's swimming and diving teams kicked off the 2024 SCAC Championships in Garland, Texas at the the Garland ISD Natatorium. The championship event is scheduled for February 14-17, with morning and evening prelims and finals. More information on the SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships can be found HERE.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Ellie Samples, Antonia Leese, Ella Bonvillian, and Emma Williams placed 2nd overall in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.94 which was good enough for a school record!
- For the men's 200-yard medley relay, Owen Rodrigue, Jorge Mendiola, Marc Galindo, and Eli Allen also took second in a time of 1:33.73.
- Southwestern took 3rd in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Ellie Samples, Emma Williams, Ella Bonvillian, and Maysen Hauck completed it in 7:54.30.
- In a time of 7:04.53, Nick Freeman, Sebastian Ortiz, Owen Rodrigue, and Zach Kangieser placed 3rd overall in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
