Adam DeFelice

DeFelice joins the Southwestern athletics department as the head strength and conditioning coach after two years teaching and expanding his spanish speaking skills while working last school year in Philadelphia, Penn., and the 2019-20 academic year teaching in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. 

Before those two years in the classroom, DeFelice was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio, Texas. There, he worked with baseball, softball, and women’s basketball, in addition to assisting with football. At UIW, DeFelice programmed and implemented complete training programs, from team lifts, to developmental workouts for individuals focusing on speed and agility development.  He also has a background working with helping athletes with nutritional plans.

DeFelice began his coaching career at the University of Kentucky as a graduate assistant, working with the men’s and women’s golf teams, and men’s tennis team, and assisting with baseball, softball, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, and track and field.
