GEORGETOWN, Texas. – The Southwestern Pirates were ranked No. 13 in the preseason edition of the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. Not only did the Pirates make the top 25, but they were also the only Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) member with a total of 173 votes.
Methodist ranked first in the Division III Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Coaches Poll. The Monarchs received 14 first-place votes.
In addition to Methodist, three other teams tallied first-place votes - second-ranked Emory, No. 7 Illinois Wesleyan, and eighth-ranked Concordia (TX). Huntingdon ranked third and was followed by Guilford, Washington, and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Ninth-ranked Hope and St. Thomas (MN), rounded out the top 10.
The next Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll will be released September 28.
