Pirates close season at NCAA South/Southeast Regional

Southwestern ended the 2014 cross country season with a 27th place finish for the women at the NCAA South/Southeast Regionals. 

The men kicked off the Regional, racing first in the day at Emory as individuals. Alex Medrano posted a time of 28:05.18 to finish in 94th place and lead the Southwestern runners. Abraham Devenport came in 175th in 30:51.53 and Kyle Bauernschmitt in 177th with a time of 30:58.35. Hector Aleman closed out the Pirate men with a 194th place finish with a time of 32:58.15. 

Emily Boujemaa led the Pirate women in her first Regional appearance, finishing in 25:23.25 and in 103rd place. Danielle King came in 124th in 25:48.85 and Valerie Vacek in 160th in 27:12.57. 

Brianna Timourian was close behind wtih a time of 27:23.84 and in 164th. Aimee Slagle and Zainab Oketokoum finished in 183rd and 184th respectively with times of 28:04.24 and 28:08.27.  

The Regional marks the end of the 2014 season for the Pirates.
