LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – In the final weekend of SCAC regular-season action, Southwestern's Andie Alford was selected as the defensive player of the week after the No. 4 Pirates went 4-1. 

SU opened the week at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday and made quick work of the Crusaders, winning in three sets. The weekend consisted of four matches in Kerrville in which the Pirates won three of four, but dropped a five-set contest against #6 Colorado College. 

Alford averaged 5.82 digs per set and posted 99 digs this week and added in four aces. Alford had a week high 36 digs in Southwestern's 3-2 loss to Colorado College Sunday and posted 23 digs in the rebound win over Austin College. 

Southwestern (27-2) opens its final week of regular season action on Friday at home, facing eighth-ranked Texas-Dallas at 6 p.m. for Senior Day.
