    SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2009 fall term and 47 Southwestern student-athletes representing all five fall sports were earned recognition. A record 780 student-athletes conference-wide made the list.

    GEORGETOWN, Texas – Reminiscent of their two other match-ups this season, the Trinity Tigers and Southwestern Pirates faced off in the NCAA Regional Final on Saturday evening and a crowd of 400+ saw the finals match they were expecting. The breaks did not go SU’s way, however, as the Pirates fell 3-0 to end their historic season.

The Pirates improve to 3-3 on the season while TLU falls to 3-2.

    Coach Long knew what kind of competition her club would face while at their first tournament in Ada, OH. Getting a taste of what playing fellow nationally ranked programs is like was a big reason she scheduled the trip. The Pirates got a good idea and played hard during the weekend but dropped three of the four contests to fall to 2-3 on the season.

  • PIRATES RANKED EIGHTH NATIONALLY IN PRESEASON POLL

    The Southwestern University Volleyball team will start the season as the team to beat in the conference as the Pirates were voted into the eighth place spot with 413 points in the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s Preseason Poll. The eighth place ranking is highest of any Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference school and is one slot higher than the Pirates finished in 2008.
