SAN ANTONIO - Jalynn Ashley posted school records in the long jump and 100-meter dash to pace the Southwestern women's track & field team at the UIW Cardinal Invitational.

Ashley crossed the line the 100-meter dash at 12.94 seconds, which was one-tenth of a second faster than Terrenee Knight's old record, set in 2004. The Huntsville native also posted a mark of 5.32m (17-5½) in the long jump, besting Londyn Malone's former program record of 5.15m (16-10¾), which was set in 1999.

The Pirates will continue the season on Thursday, April 13 at the McMurry Open in Abilene.
