Alli Ziehm and Taylor Despriet Named SCAC Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week

Southwestern University Pirates women's tennis duo of first years Alli Ziehm and Taylor Despriet were named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Doubles Team of the Week for matches played from Sunday, Feb. 17 to Sunday, Feb. 23.

Ziehm and Despriet scored three points on the No. 2-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and broke a 1-1 tie in doubles against No. 21-ranked Caltech, defeating Nina Solovyeva and Ankita Roychoudhury in No. 3 doubles, helping secure a 7-2 victory.

The duo is 1-1 in their two matches played this season, both from the No. 3 spot. For the season, the Pirates are 4-1 with a 1-1 record against nationally-ranked opponents. Southwestern will host LeTourneau and McMurry on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
