Cardone earns slot at NCAA Championship

GEORGETOWN, Texas - For the second consecutive season Mary Cardone will compete in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship as an individual beginning May 24th. 

Cardone made history last season as a first-year, becoming Southwestern's first ever player, male or female, to earn a singles spot at the Championship. Cardone fell in the round of 32 last season to end the year with a 20-1 record. 

This season, Cardone posted a 17-5 overall record at #1 singles and went 4-0 at the Ojai and posted wins over regionally ranked opponents all season. Cardone, a sophomore from San Antonio, was the SCAC Newcomer and Player of the Year last season and earned her second consecutive All-SCAC honor this season. Cardone was ranked ninth in the region in both singles and doubles in the lastest ITA Regional Rankings.
