Southwestern collects fourth straight win, downs Swarthmore on Monday night

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Southwestern extended its winning streak to four matches, as the Pirates defeated Swarthmore, 7-2, Monday evening at the Marvin D. Henderson Sr. Tennis Courts.

Southwestern (4-1) held a 2-1 advantage after doubles action. The Pirates collected wins at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles to take the early lead.

The Garnet (0-2) claimed the top singles matchup to tie the match. However, Southwestern received a win from Nicole Wilson (6-1, 6-3) at No. 6 singles to reclaim the lead for good.

After posting a victory at the third spot, the Bucs clinched the match as Megan Hawkins earned a 6-3, 6-4 decision at No. 4 singles.

The Pirates will continue its spring campaign on Wednesday against Concordia Texas. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
