Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team defeated Southwestern, 7-2, on Friday at the Streich Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls opened the match by sweeping doubles action to take a 3-0 lead. Shayne Cook and Jasmine Briantwon a 9-7 match at No. 1 and Hannah and Jenna Smith won, 8-6, at No. 2.

Nicole Wilson (#4) and Maranda Kahl (#6) won their singles matches. Wilson won 6-1, 6-4 while Kahl won in an extended set 6-1, 4-6, 10-6.
HSU is now 6-7 on the year and Southwestern is now 7-4.
