Abdel-Rahim named SCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Freshman Heba Abdel-Rahim of Southwestern University has been named SCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her outstanding performance this past week.

 

A freshman from Katy, Texas, Abdel-Rahim earned the first Player of the Week honors for the Pirates this season. She led Southwestern to a 5-4 come from behind win over Colorado College this past weekend which led to the Pirates earning the No. 2 seed in this weekend's SCAC Women's Tennis Tournament.

 

Abdel-Rahim found herself and teammate Marieke Visser found themselves down 6-3 and went on to complete a great come-from-behind victory to win 9-7 and give Southwestern line doubles point. She then went on to clinch the match at No. 5 singles, breaking the 4-4 tie to give the Pirates the 5-4 win.
