Women's Swim Team Finishes First Day in Tiger Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - Women's swim and dive completed their first day at the Trinity Invitational meet in fourth place with a score of 157, adding to the combined team score of 244.5.

In a full day of preliminaries and finals, women's swim earned some fast marks in the women's 200-yard freestyle relay, coming in third place with a time of 1:37.89 with swimmers Jesse Stovall,  Emma Frey, Rehgan Hartsell and Catherine Hiebel.

The women also did well in the 400-yard medley relay, earning fourth place with a time of 3:59.22 30, again with Stovall, Frey, Hartsell and Hiebel.

In individual races, Hartsell came in third in the women's 200-yard IM with a time of 2:12.45. Natalie Gierat also placed high in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:14.23 13, coming in sixth. In the 50-yard freestyle, Stovall earned third place with a time of 23.93, only two-tenths of a second behind the first and second place winners. Frey earned fifth place with a time of 24.20

The Pirates will continue the Tiger's Invitational through Saturday, Nov. 23.
