Women's Swimming And Diving Gets Record Performances At Trinity Invitational

SAN ANTONIO – First Year student-athletes Ashley Harmon and Jesse Stovall set multiple school records to help the Southwestern University Pirates women's swimming and diving team finish fourth in the nine-team Trinity University Invitational with a score of 310.

Stovall had a huge weekend for the Pirates, breaking school records with victories in the 100 Yard Freestyle (52.16) and 100 Yard Butterfly (57.19). She helped set the pace early for the Pirates, posting a team-best 23.54 split in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay to help Southwestern University finish third with a time of 1:37.80.

Stovall also served as the anchor on the 400 Yard Medley Relay as the Pirates finished third in the event with a time of 4:02.05. She was also on the third-place finish (1:48.67) 200 Yard Medley Relay team, picking up a split of 24.98, second on the team to anchor Cara Chin's time of 24.60.

In the 50 Yard Freestyle, she finished second to Henderson State University's Lindsey Lucas (23.96) by fractions of a second with a time of 24.01.

Harmon finished second in the 1650 Yard Freestyle, breaking the school record with a time of 18:02.93. She also placed second in the 200 Yard Butterfly (2:13.40) and sixth in the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:14.67).

Rehgan Hartsell took third in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.78 and sixth in the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:28.00). Kyla Gorman finished seventh in the 1 Meter Dive with a score of 163.85.

The Pirates won't return to action until Saturday, Jan. 19, when they host Trinity University.
