LEWISVILLE, Texas – Southwestern opened the 2017 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships with a pair of third-place finishes on Wednesday night at the Westside Aquatic Center.

The foursome of Madison Doty, Erika Dubros, Kenly Gaynor and Cara Chin logged a time of 1:50.33 in the 200-yard medley relay.

The Bucs also posted a podium finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay, as Doty, Sam Rao, Alexandra Morris and Taylor Adams reached the wall with a time of 8:01.98.

The league championships will continue Thursday. The preliminaries for four events begins at 10:30 a.m., while the same four events will hold finals at 6 p.m.
