Pirates take two from Tigers

GEORGETOWN, Texas - You would never know the Pirates are coming off their longest break of the season as they returned to action in style Saturday, defeating conference-rival Trinity 7-0, 8-4.

GAME 1: SOUTHWESTERN 7 - TRINITY 0

Southwestern was able to get on the board first, taking advantage of a Tiger error in the third inning. SU added one more in the sixth from McKenna Zinke's RBI single to third base that brought home Kaitlynn Copher

The Pirates exploded for five runs in the seventh coming from Katie Bricarell's double and singles from Zinke and Sydney Scott to firm up the win.

Lindsey Longuet earned the complete game shutout win, scattering eight hits while walking one and striking out six. Celeste Silvas led at the plate going 3-5.
