GEORGETOWN, Texas - Despite outhitting Trinity on the day the Southwestern softball team split their Saturday double header 4-3 and 0-1.

Trinity opened the game with two runs in game one but the Pirates responded with two runs in the third and fourth and were able to hold off the Tigers in the seventh to take the win. 

Andrea Hern led at the plate going 2-3 with one RBI while Chandler Smith got the win on the mound. 

Southwestern wasn't able to string together enough hits in game two as they fell 1-0. The Pirates outhit TU 10-3 in the game including a 3-4 performance from Celeste Silvas and 2-2 from Hern. 

SU stranded 11 baserunners in the loss and Longuet suffered the loss on the mound despite allowing just one run. 

The two teams face off on Sunday for the final regular season doubleheader of the year.
