Softball completes sweep in dramatic fashion to extend win streak

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern needed a seventh inning rally in game three to defeat the University of Dallas before cruising to a run-rule win in game four, completing the four game sweep over the weekend and extend their win streak to 12.

Southwestern trailed the entire game in game one and were down 10-6 heading into the bottom of the seventh. Eventhough all seemed lost Southwestern never stopped fighting and posted five runs in the bottom half of the inning. Paige McShan kicked off the rally with a solo homerun and back-to-back-to-back doubles from Hern, Fuchs and Scott secured the win.

The Pirate defense left nothing to chance in game two as they held Dallas scoreless as Lindsey Longuet posted the complete game shutout win.

Sydney Scott led at the plate going 3-4 in game two while Celeste Silvas and Paige McShan each posted two hits.

The Pirates move to 15-9 on the year and 8-2 in the SCAC with the wins. They return to the road to face Centenary College for a four-game SCAC series beginning on Saturday at noon.
