Reyna Named SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week

Lawrenceville, Georgia - Junior, Romie Reyna a defender from Fort Worth, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played the week of Monday, October 16th to Sunday, October 21st.

Reyna led the Pirates to a 3-0 shutout victory last week against Dallas. She anchored a defensive line that allowed just eight shots all game, including just one on target. The win marked the seventh shutout of the season for Southwestern and the sixth in SCAC action. Reyna also chipped in offensively scoring her third goal of the season on a direct kick from 27-yards out.

"She helped secure our shutout against Dallas and has anchored our defense all year long," Head Coach Linda Hamilton said. "She was very tough to get around or behind."
