Pirate's Pull a 4-2 Win Over CTX

Georgetown, Texas – The women soccer team answers back with a 4-2 win against to Concordia Texas (CTX), making their first win of the season.

The Pirates wasted no time in taking the lead in the first and second half with a 2-0 lead. CTX found their wind and would score two more goals to tie the game 2-2. With 7 minutes left in the game, Maya Fulle and Alexis Barrientez would respond back with two goals to allow the Pirates to claim the win.

Offensively Maya Fulle lead the game with two scored goals as well Alexis Barrientez and Ariel Mansholt who scored as well. Once again Mary Cardone showcases her skills protecting the box with a total of nine saves out of the 21 total shots Concordia at the goal.

Losing to CTX 0-5 from the 2017 season, the Pirates show the growth a goal of what they plan to do in the 2018 season. The next game for the women's soccer team will take on Texas-Tyler in their first home game of the season Friday, Sept. 8th.
