GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern Pirates women's soccer team traveled to Belton for their opener of the 2018 season with a hard loss to University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB).

The Pirates could not find many opportunities to score offensively against UMHB. However, goalie Mary Cardone showed her skill defensively for the Pirates with a total of 13 saves. UMHB had many shot opportunities which totaled to 26 shots at goal. The game ended with UMHB scoring 3 goals to 0 for the Pirates.
The Pirates return to the field today, Sept. 1st, to take on Concordia Texas at 7:30 p.m. at the UMHB Soccer Field in Belton.
