Women's soccer named NSCAA Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award Winners

For the second time in five years, the Southwestern women's soccer team earned a Silver NSCAA Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award. In all, 125 college teams and 79 fall high school teams were awarded either gold, silver, or bronze versions of the award.

Southwestern first won the award in 2010. The Pirates and Trinity were the only SCAC schools to earn the honor.

This award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

Eight college teams earned the NSCAA's Gold Team Ethics Award, while 19 high school teams received the Gold High School Team Ethics Award.
