Pirates fall to Tigers

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern women's lacrosse were bested Friday afternoon by Colorado College, falling 24-6. 

The Tigers took control of the game early, scoring nine unanswered in the opening ten minutes. Ronni Winter broke the run with a free position goal with 17:38 to play in the first half. Colorado College got hot again but Southwestern closed the half with back-to-back goals in the final three minutes to pull within 12, 15-3. 

Colorado College was just too deep as they extended their lead throughout the second half to keep the Pirates out of striking distance until the final buzzer sounded. 

Winter and Haley Donnelly led offensive with two goals each while Donnelly added in an assist as well. Allison Cook posted one goal and one assist with two draw controls and one caused turnover. Julia Tape and Grace Maynard led defensively with three ground balls and three caused turnovers a piece. 

Southwestern drops to 5-10 on the year while Colorado College improves to 13-5. The Pirates close the 2018 season at home on Sunday against Meredith College at noon.
