Women's lacrosse rides to easy win over Puget Sound

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern dominated every aspect of the game to defeat the University of Puget Sound 18-3 Thursday evening.

Puget Sound got on the board first with a goal five minutes into the game, but Southwestern sparked a rally that lasted almost the entire game. SU scored 13 unanswered goals in the first half and led 13-1 at the break.

Assisted by Subrina Suriol, Ronnie Winter got things rolling once again for the Pirates at the start of the second half. The Pirates were never threatened despite UPS scoring three straight to close the game.

Southwestern's defense was outstanding, led by starting goalie Claire Harding who allowed just one goal in 30 minutes of play and midfielder Grace Maynard who posted seven caused turnovers. Offensively, the Pirates were led by Brenna Jobb who posted five goals and one assist while Winter added in four goals.

The Pirates improve to 3-6 on the year and remain at home to face Sewanee on Sunday at 10:30 am.
