Women’s lacrosse suffers first loss, falling 15-5 to Occidental

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Occidental was strong early and put Southwestern in a hole they could not recover from as the Pirates fell 15-5 Sunday morning.

Occidental rattled off eight unanswered goals in the first 21 minutes, but the Pirates closed the half strong, however, and cut the deficit to five, 8-3 at halftime.

Occidental was able to hold off the Pirates the rest of the way as SU was never within striking distance.

Kaitlyn Campbell led with two goals while Kate Davis and Emma Albin had one goal and one assist each.

Southwestern drops to 1-1 on the year and hit the road for the first time this season, facing the University of Dallas on Sunday at 1 pm.
