Women's Golf Opens Lady Crusader Invitational in First

GLEN ROSE, Texas — The Southwestern University Pirates women's golf team ended the first day of the Lady Crusader Fall Invitational in first place, scoring a combined 307 to outpace Hardin-Simmons University by 14 strokes. 

Madison Goldberg ended the day in a tie with Mary Hardin-Baylor's Victoria Gleghorn for first place, shooting a 74 to finish two over par. Goldberg led the field in Par 4 scoring at one over and tied the lead for birdies with  three. 

Leilani McDaniel also finished in the top five, tied for fourth with Concordia Texas' Makaela Lauritsen at 76. McDaniel finished one under on Par 3 holes to lead the field and made par 13 times overall.

Emily Campbell shot a 77 to finish five over and in sixth place. She tied with McDaniel at 13 pars. Linsey Garza and Sarah Lucido rounded out the Pirates' lineup with 80 each, tied for 13th at eight over par.
